A CARVED ZITAN ‘HUNDRED-ANTIQUES’ TABLE-CABINET
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The rectangular shaped cabinet has two doors to the front that are carved with a vase and a brushpot containing scholars implements which enclose a seven-section interior. The top has a further smaller section with two drawers. The sides continue with more antiques and the back has elaborate lotus flowers. The hinges and the handles are all gilt bronze.
18¼ in. (46.3 cm.) high, 18¼ in. (46.3 cm.) wide, 8¾ in. (22.3 cm.) deep.

狀況報告
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Each panel to the side and back have a crack/split with minute chips. The front left panel also has a split and minute loss to the dragon.
There are a few joints that are slightly apart, otherwise this is in generally fairly good condition.

A MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID HUANGHUALI CABINET
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form with two doors set with rectangular metal lockplates and inlaid with mother-of-pearl depicting two birds amongst floral sprays and blossoming branches. The doors open to reveal the shelved interior with eight drawers. The sides are similarly decorated.
13 7/8 in. (35 cm.) high, 14 1/2 in. (37 cm.) wide, 11 3/8 in. (29.1 cm.) deep

It is very rare to find huanghuali furniture pieces inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Compare to a mother-of-pearl inlaid huanghuali kang table dated to the middle Qing period in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in The Palace Museum Collection: A Treasury of Ming & Qing dynasty Palace Furniture, vol. 1, Beijing, pp. 244-245, fig. 279 (fig. 1).
