TANG DYNASTY
唐白釉綠彩鳳首壺
the elegant pear-shaped body rising to a narrow neck below a pinched ‘phoenix-head’ mouth rim, the shoulders with a curved double strap handle, covered overall in a white slip and irregular splashes of green

Height 15.4 cm, 6⅛ in.

Condition Report
The ewer has areas of over-painting to the green glaze, to one side of the body covering an area circa 7x6cm., to the other side a circular section of circa 3x3cm, to the front of the neck extending down from the spout circa 4x1cm, restoration to the front edge of the spout, over-painting to the left side pinched ear section and to the band at the top of the handle.
